I cannot watch a show that has a sad ending. I can really get tore up emotionally if I do. I only read a certain kind of book that always ends well. I think it has something to do with my sad and tragic childhood. Seeing all the cruelty done to my mother. A counselor told me many, many years ago that I had PTSD like the soldiers that have been in battle. I never read biographies because they are true and then if the end is terrible I am upset for days.

I watched the first series of a Masterpiece Theater on PBS and looked forward to the second series and at the very beginning of the first show the male character that I was very interested in, died and was buried. I was shocked and I got this funny feeling in my chest. I know it is not real but it doesn't seem to matter. The show went in a completely different direction. I learned that the main male star didn't want to come back for season 2.

So I went to find a book about it and was surprised by what I read in a long review. I discovered there were a lot of women upset with the change. Then was told to find this certain book that another lady had wrote with a better ending.
