Re: June wedding jubilee
It is 20 years already for Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex! That long ago? Interesting thing about their wedding.....I did not rise early to watch that wedding; instead I recorded it and watched it later. It is a difference from the 1981 and 1986 royal weddings for which I rose early to watch. The 1981 one was because my family did not have VCR or VCR device yet for me to be able to record to watch later. The family did have one when Prince Andrew got married, but I chose to rise early to watch it.
Later when Prince Edward got married, I decided to record it to watch later. But I rose early again for the weddings of the Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex and Princess Eugenie of York. The reason behind Prince Edward's wedding was that it was set much later in the day, wasn't it? All others were set around 11 a.m. London time but not Prince Edward's, was it? Maybe that's why I did not rise early and instead record it to watch later.
Anyway, thank you Chris for this monthly post of a set of weddings. Lovely!
I always think of June Royal Weddings as the "Swedish Royal Weddings" as the month has been the month of choice for Sweden's Royals.
Many other Royals have chosen this lovely month also, Thanks so much Chris!
