Hi - as part of my recent revision surgery, I had the breast incision on one side revised. During my original surgery, a number of the stitches did not dissolve and when they were removed at about three weeks, that scar opened up a bit and became wide and a bit thick. When the revision was done and the steristrips taken off, the revision looked great. Now, 5 weeks later, I have had some stitches come to the surface (which I have trimmed, if they didn't just come out) and the scar is red and seems to be widening. None of the other scars from this revision are like this - they are all neat very thin and not nearly as red.
Any ideas why this one is giving me trouble again? I talked to a nurse who said to massage with bio oil. I just started that last week, so it may be too early to see any benefits.
Thanks for your help!
