You suggested that I have MRI every 1-2 years as follow-up imaging. I believe you stated that regular mammography and ultrasound would not show any abnormalities because the tissue of my breasts is actually fat from abdominal flap. Well, my primary ordered MRI and it was denied by my insurance company because they require a mammogram, ultrasound, or biopsy before MRI. I don't know what to do or how to appeal because none of my Dr.'s here are really familiar with the flap procedure, and how do I explain the nature of the breasts made out of fat tissue to the insurance co.? Should I request some documentation from you or your office? I want to be diligent in my follow-up care. Please advise. I hope this is not an inappropriate question for this board. Many thanks and God bless you. I love The Center for Restorative Breast Surgery and everyone there.
