It also meant more time between games so teams should have been well rested but playing in the conditions they did will have made that difficult still. And yet England rested Kane, known for wearing down during a tournament, for 6 minutes.

....but I missed too many night games and I felt the scheduling of others in hot humid conditions reduced the intensity.
The Trump/Infantino red card u-turn left a terrible taste in the mouth.
And the half time crap in the final was a nail in the coffin.
On the other hand I did not have a problem with the larger number of teams involved.
