there were also lots of calls for Paredes to be banned for life for the punch up at the end, which is fair enough for the wee snide c*nt
BUT its from the same people that have completely ignored Bellingham's petulance strike once the semi had ended and allowed him to play and score in the 3/4 play off.
There's reasons for both, once is much worse than the other but its pretty much the same offence when it comes down to the rules.

It was before they lost. (Cynically I'd say it was when England lost - for the media at least)
Shearer, before the game had even started was banging on about the ref needing to be strong (but only semmingly with one team) then as soon as any Argie tackle when in he was baying for a yellow or more. Completely ignoring similar Spainish aggression from Cucurella and co.
Micah was pretty much the same, just came across as sour grapes.
Glad they lost they are a horrible bunch.
Spain no doubt the best team with the best players in most positions - no one can keep the ball and force good teams back as much as they do. I just don't particularly like watching them either.
France v England would at least have been a better final to watch but neither deserved to be there.

Every media man and his dog jumping on the "cheating Argies, bullies, anti-football etc" faux outrage bandwagon after they lost the final.
I suspect these are the same shitehawks who, had they beaten Spain, would be venerating a "job well done, professional mentality, focus on winning etc" while kissing the arse of Messi at every opportunity.
It's as if Pickford, not playing in the final to be blamed, left them scurrying round trying to sound relevant.
