The Original People's Forum: It was a big factor. They do get motivated by it.

Regardless of technical ability (which deserted them for much of the games versus Cape Verde and Egypt by the way) there's a massive difference when they take to the pitch against England. They're pumped up to get the job done.

The players are carrying Malvina's flags onto the pitch post-game. It's just completely daft to ignore that. It does mean more to them.

By your logic, Argentina has better football players in just about every position because they lost a small war for an Island no one has been too as opposed to better coaching, technical ability and just the right conditions in a society to produce 2 of the best players that have ever played the game.

maybe its an English mentality that always brings the war into any conversation - but wanting it more doesn't win you games if you don't have the technical and tactical ability.
