I can't speak for everyone but my feeling was that the majority of the people on the FAB were genuinely there to try to make a positive difference and to represent the fans to the club.

However, in my 2 years on there I was still undecided (as I was when I went in) if it was just a box-ticking exercise for the club/PL and they were just paying lip service again.

This time last year I had reapplied, but didn't make it through the the shortlisting stage, and that was pretty much it for me. I was disappointed at the time, but got over it pretty quickly and genuinely didn't miss it one jot - especially once the season at the new stadium started and I could just socialise without the commitment of the pre-match drop-ins (which I think continued but I'm honestly not sure as - despite following all their social media accounts - the algorithms weren't really showing me much FAB activity, and on the few occasions I did see anything it was mainly just retweets of club information and felt more like a fan site which I felt was a shame.

I'm sure that they will feel that they put in the effort last season, but I didn't see much evidence of anything major happening FAB-wise, which is something of a disappointment for me, given the effort I'd seen put in over 2 seasons, but there could be a pretty simple explanation for that.

My last meeting with the FAB in May 2025 was the first that Angus Kinnear attended, and my current stance on the direction of the club is mainly based on what he said that night. I thought he said all the right things about the FAB (he described it as a "critical friend" to the club) but maybe the relative stability that they brought made it hard for the FAB to really enact any real change, who knows?
