reform peaked with protest council votes but they are essentially dumbo pseudo racists who blame anyone not them for their failings.
reform will be a spent force at the genral election. fariiige losing clacton would be lovely.

....something clearly needs to change as the country is only heading in one direction and Kier Starmer hasn't been able to do that, hopefully Burnham can be the catalyst for change that he clearly thinks that he can be.
I find it difficult to take off my blue tinted specs with him, as of course his football allegiance is irrelevant, but even without them I've been supoortive of him for a long time, so hopefully he can get things looking a little better - it's a massive challenge though for sure.

even the Reform and Restore votes combined would still have resulted in a fairly comfortable Labour majority.
I'm not convinced Burnham has all the answers to the country's woes - in fact I know he doesn't - but I don't see this as anything other than good news. Nothing is ever certain but he should see off both Streeting and Starmer in a leadership contest and then hopefully take a more pluralistic approach to party management, winning back the voters, members and activists McSweeney and Starmer drove away.
More importantly though, he should be able to make and communicate a better offer to the understandably cynical and struggling majority of the electorate which seems the only way to stop the country falling into the hands of far right, billionaire-bankrolled grifters.
A lot to put on one man's shoulders and there are plenty of obstacles in the way, not least the party machinery. Plus the donors and corporate lobbying groups which will no doubt already be making moves to squash any potential new threat to their profiteering.
A step in the right direction though.

...to Andy Burnham MP.
A momentous night for sure.
