Coming home for a couple of weeks in August, and staying with me mam in Liverpool.

Last year, on a similar trip, my wife and I took a side trip for a few days in the Lake District, stayed in Grasmere. Currently, a neighbor of mine has gone to England to do the Coast to Coast hike, and has been posting some brilliant Photos of English countryside (despite the rainy weather).

It’s got me really wanting to sample that experience, but without the strenuous Bear Grylls extreme hiking!

I’d be happy to go back to the Lakes, but want to experience other locations- Yorkshire? Derbyshire?

Any recommendations? Looking for cottages, rolling hills, streams, and easy hikes. Simple food, and away from city shopping - more Emmerdale, and the Woolpack 😁
