better to go after the providers of social media financially until they actually take steps to prevent misinformation and do things that might actually protect kids.

of course that would suggest they actually wanted to protect people and it's not merely a thinly veiled mechanism for users having to provide ID to access services that those in charge deem inappropriate for people. y'know like trans healthcare or abortion services or whatever else is deemed socially inappropriate.
