so we can either get all angsty and demand the club pay the full £20m just so we can have our first signing by the first weekend in June
or, sit on it for a few days, go back with £12m, and figure that every million we save can go on a getting other deals done
I trust the professionals with this one

And yet we wasted £24m on that useless forward with little sell on value. Our transfer business is scattergun at best.
Hackney would be great business at £25m

Either:
1. We're locking in for Hackney so circulting the idea that we've got other targets in mind, and therefore if Boro hold out for £18m+ we'll opt for Charles instead
2. We want both, and the idea is that Hackney + Charles replace Gueye + Iroegbunam

Garner, Hackney, Rohl, Dewsbury-Hall, Armstrong…that five players for three central midfield positions…if you sell one of Tim (contract reasons) / Alcaraz (Moyes clearly doesn’t fancy him) then that’s six for three, which is ideal.
Essentially, swap Hackney out for Tim / Alcaraz and Gana…I’m on board with that.
Now do full backs.

Everton are now in negotiations with Middlesbrough for Hayden Hackney - talks going well - 23 year old’s preference is to join Everton over a number of other Premier League clubs 🔵
