A boat trip on the Singapore River and around the harbour is a nice way to spend a few hours
Gardens by the Bay is excellent and well worth a visit
The cable car from Mount Faber Peak over to Sentosa is a nice experience.
For a wonderful Dim Sum lunch, the Yum Cha Restaurant in Chinatown is highly recommended.

Of the hawker markets you mention, Satay Street is the best for me.
Unless you have a real urge to go to the Long Bar at Raffles, I’d ignore that idea. The drinks are expensive and the ubiquitous Singapore Sling is pre-mixed.
I’ll be back there for the first time is 4 years in October and can’t wait! Have a great time

Got a couple of days layover in a few weeks, any suggestions?
Got Satay Street, Newton Centre and Chinatown Complex for hawker centres.
Not really arsed going up the fancy hotel.
Universal Studios looks rubbish, sadly for us coaster lovers.
