We’re not going to be signing £20m-£30m players in every position so this feels like a good use of whatever budget we do have, in order to upgrade two positions. Regardless of who the manager is, I’d be keen on this one.

28, natural right back, PL proven, vast experience, good injury record, adds real pace. Price enables us to reserve budget for other areas. Means we fix two positions in one move (moving O’Brien into the centre).
Other than the Moyes / former clubs thing, there’s really not much to complain about here.
