Other than Baines, Pienaar, Cahill, Arteta, Jagielka, Martyn, Lescott, Stones, Howard... oh and that young Irish lad, I forget his name...I think it was maybe mentioned yesterday?

His recruitment at Sunderland snd West Ham was appalling.
Another Moyes myth that he’s good at recruitment

As I've said countless times, it's not as straightforward as that and not all about points as different points totals bring you different league positions and different rewards/consequences each season so it's honestly not the key factor for me.
RE: Patterson at RB and a back 3 - your most telling point was "we don't know" - which is exactly right - we don't know if they tried it over and over in training and it didn't work.
It's a hugely disappointing end to the season from both the manager and the players - nobody is saying that it isn't - but as I've also said consistently, this time last year I wasn't expecting great things with the position we were in - new owners, new stadium, PSR restrictions, loads of players out of contract, etc. etc. You can't just ignore all those factors just because the season looked like being a much better one at some points.
I said then that I would be happy for us to steer well clear of relgation, get ourselves into the new stadium and have some decent performances along the way. I'm not going to rewrite that just because 6 weeks ago we almost hit the top 6. On the flip side, if somebody had told me that (regardless of points totals) we'd be in with a chance of Europe with 2 games to go then I would have bitten their hand off, and so would most Evertonians I think.
We've had some absolutely awful performances this season (and yesterday was absolutely up these) but we've also had some unexpected and outstanding ones and I'd say that we've been competitive in most of them and (stats might prove me wrong) seem to have generally created a lot more chances and had better and more exciting attacking play. There has been positive stuff but it all seems to be completely ignored when the dips happen.
I'm not all-in on Moyes, and never have been, but I am definitely a fan of stability and continuation where possible. I accept that (with hindsight) there seem to have been a lot of poor decisions - especially with some player selection, substitions and game management - but there have also been a lot of individual errors in games have have cost us and that's not just on the manager - you can't just say HE'S shit the bed when the likes of Ndiaye and KDH are missing chances as they have in the last few games and JOB is gifting goals like yesterday - it's a collective thing/ I'd say that THEY failed, not just him.
As for your suggestion of "Put me in charge of recruitment" - I think that's extremely unlikely to be the case as he knows full well that we have an expensively assembled recruitment team now (who still haven't had the opportunity of a summer transfer window I might add) - he's a part of it and has a say of course, but it's not as big a say as some seem to be insisting.
So, the honest opinion you asked for is that I'd OK with seeing how the squad is improved over the summer and for TFG to see where we are at Christmas before making a decision on Moyes' future. I'm no expert on other managers so I don't really have any opinion on the alternatives suggested (again I would leave that to the experts who have all the data) but all I would say in response to the names mentioned like Iraola and Glasner is that there was a similar clamour for the likes of Thomas Frank at Brentford and Graham Potter at Brighton, both of whom have crashed and burned since, so success at one club doesn't automatically gain you success at another.
Sometimes it's better the devil you know - that's not forever, and it doesn't mean things don't have to improve, but the one thing above all others that I have enjoyed most the season has been stability. I think it's vastly under-rated after 30 years without it and I'd quite like a bit more of it before throwing the dice again. If that makes me unambitious then fair enough but it's no biggie - our owners and our CEO absolutely are, and they are the important ones.
To quote Angus Kinnear: I'm happily disappointed.

The data shows that Tarkowski and Keane together means we start each game 2 goals down.
Yet when Branthwaite was injured it was his default.
Would Patterson at right back mean we start each game at 3 nil down? Would trying a back 3?
We don't know, but the fact he didn't try different combinations suggests he's making a point:
"Put me in charge of recruitment, this squad you've provided is shit"
He's shit the bed. You can't dress it up an other way. A low points requirement for Europe and he failed despite the door being left open for weeks on end.
Put it another way, if you'd have been told pre season with a game to go we'd have ONE more point, would you be saying he's done a great job?
To quote David Beckham: Be honest.
