I'm actually not against buying an older player if he significantly improves the performance of the team.
Arguably one of the best transfers of the season has been Granite Xakha to Sunderland who has been a transformative signing for them.
Peter Reid was also a catalyst at the time and an inspiration and driver for the team and I suspect Moyes will follow this track instead of trying to find a younger version of Xakha, Reid & Soucek.

dependent on the incoming transfers.
I've no doubt his priority will be the Defence.
2 new full backs is essential. O'B should ( in my opinion) pair with Branthwaite....( there's another discussion to be had over his long term fitness) . I will say this though, that any manager who has Everton's future in mind would be starting a fit Branthwaite & O'B as first choice CB's.
My next query is WHERE are the leaders on the pitch?
It seems to me we don't have any. Someone who will grab them by the scruff of the neck when things are not going well and alternatively to calm things down when others are losing their heads.
We've all seen these type of players in the past and know that these type of players can change a team from being ' alright ' to believing they CAN beat any team and not fear anyone & being a catalyst to better things.
We need that type of player to drive the team forward.
A leader upfront wouldn't go amiss either.
Having said all that good leaders don't come cheap and may mean making best use of the technology that TFG have invested in and finding some gems.
