We seem to have ignored it for decades, under all managers.
I still recall opposition corners when we had Kanchelskis. If we could boot it clear he'd turn the opposition completely, and often made chances through it.

The most important thing is to have players who can retain the ball and pass it and have pace to trouble the opposition.
I dont think we have a manager who can do that.
Their ambition is limited IMO if they retain Moyes, as seems likely.

They have a very big, very expensive stadium to fill.
When it goes bad and the stadium is half empty, they'll make a decision to protect their investment very fast.

Other clubs bring in a manager for a finite period to get them out of a hole then thank them for doing it and move on with the masterplan.
I suspect last summer TFG just made the decision that their investment had to be protected and employing a manager who could do that was the extent of their ambitions.
That 'happily dissatisfied' comment is going to become a millstone round their necks.

at best we will finish this season on 52 points.
But it's more than likely we will finish the season on 49 points. That's a 1 point gain on last season, a season that saw Dyche sacked for just 3 wins in 19 games.
