So I will say it. I find it utterly fucking ridiculous we have imported an argument from 1000s of miles away in the middle east to the point where it massively impacts our politics.

I find the rise in antisemitism in the UK disgusting as I am sure everyone does.
I find the rise of racism towards none whites disgusting as I am sure everyone does.
But I think Importing the arguments of others to the level we have, utterly ridiculous, actual insanity.
We have our own concerns in tbe country without allowing Israel / Palestine to impact our politics so much and dominate as it has been doing
Economics, NHS, rising poverty, wealth gap, disillusioned youth, petty crime rate, incoming increases in unemployment, etc etc etc, the list goes on.

Honestly. As a collective the UK needs to get a grip.
We wont fix domestic issues by dividing so vehement over who sides with who in the ongoing issues in the middle east.
Sadly the council elections seem to indicate I am pissing in the wind.

Trev is referencing the fact he was in Labour Friends of Israel and part of the antisemitism pile on against Corbyn (starting out neutral but becoming gradually more outspoken as he saw which way the wind was blowing). He has offered up a more critical stance on Israeli actions as Mayor but for a lot of left-leaning voters he is damaged goods. I doubt he’d be effective countering the Green surge because of that.
