I would assume
Trev is referencing the fact he was in Labour Friends of Israel and part of the antisemitism pile on against Corbyn (starting out neutral but becoming gradually more outspoken as he saw which way the wind was blowing). He has offered up a more critical stance on Israeli actions as Mayor but for a lot of left-leaning voters he is damaged goods. I doubt he’d be effective countering the Green surge because of that. Then I saw he went to St Aelreds Secondary School in Newton Le Willows as I did! Small world!
