Yes automate as much as possible....but the frustration of being a mm offside we are stuck with, even with your 15%, it would then be was his nose/elbow/knee over the 15% threshold.
So offside you either go back to the on the field and accept the mistakes or go with the tech and accept the frustrating marginal decision.

with a threshold of allowing up to 15% of body to be offside before flagging off side. That allows for 'human error' allowances. Definitely flag for 20% or more, with on field decision maintained for the 15 to 20 %.
