He was a place-holder on the bench, and Moyes 'eyes in the dressing room' (his words).
Ireland played him as they're shite and international footie is different.
We just decided to give him a farewell tour, which is fine, he deserves it.

Surely we can expect to hear a retirement announcement before the weekend? Because if not he’s either
- staying another year
- leaving but with no home send-off
- disappearing quietly out of the club.
I wonder if instead there could be some kind of preseason testimonial?
