On Monday night
We ask to review Silva grappling with Rohl, VAR look at it, yes, there's grappling but not enough so you've lost your review
In football the majority of the time there is no right answer
If the bloke who was sat in front of me yesterday at Selhurst Park was refereeing then we'd have had 250 free kicks !
As an umpire and referee, they are completely different sports to officiate

Pissing against the wind here because it looks as though it's here to stay. I just wonder if a version of the DRS system used in cricket might be an option. One 'third ref' for a game. VAR requested by on-pitch ref if needed, to confirm a call. Teams have a number of appeals (one per half?) if they think something went against them. You retain your appeal if 'VAR' shows you to be correct, you lose it otherwise. You get a shocker, ref doesn't agree, you are able to ask for it to be looked at. Third ump doesn't tend to get involved in a 'calling the umpire over to have a look at something they missed' way. Your captain asks for the reviews on advice of key players.
It hasn't done much (IMO) to detract from the excitement/the ability to celebrate a wicket.
Probably any number of reasons why not usable in football, but been bugging me. People on the whole seem pretty happy with it.
No doubt Everton will still get fucked over though
