It’s hard not to be disappointed after that, but as soon as the corner was cleared. Why wasn’t the whistle blown? If it was the other way around, I’m sure it would have been.

But I’m walking away with a smile on my face. Great fight in the second half, and after City had almost sent me to sleep in the first half with the little tippy taps around the edge of the box before throwing themselves over, it was just nice to have a proper game of football in the second half.

It infuriates me in these types of games that any foul we do is a yellow card. Does the ref factor in that he thinks they are more likely to score on a break away, therefore our fouls are more serious? Twice he played on when they tried to drag our players down on a break. Just because he played on doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t go back and book them for a professional foul.

Anyway, I’ve just seen a Man City fan as wide as he was tall punch a road sign and then fall over it before being dragged away by his misses because we were chanting that they lost the league at Bramley Moore, so heading home with a smile on my face at least.
