a mate of mine from dublin knew him well and i think used to help him locate a variety of intoxicants.. anyway a saturday morning we were in the nags head upper street and barry said me mate shane is coming for a quick pint.

in walks magowan all over the shop. he has 4 pints of martini an hour for 3 hours and i couldnt understand a fcuking word.

how he lasted a further 3 decades is beyond me

Just watching an 80s Top of the Pops repeat, great nostalgia, but I realised without ever thinking about it that I never liked New Order, at all. Not even one of their singles, even a little bit. Formulaic pseudo-techno shite.
