…wasn’t a fan of early XTC ( bar I liked the singles) however on a recommendation from Rolling Stone in the late ‘80’s I bought ‘Skylarking’ and it’s one of my top 10 of all time. A genius record as are Oranges and Lemons, Nonsuch, Apple Venus and Wasp Star. I caught up with the earlier stuff way after I’d established mid/late career love.

In late 1977 Dave Fanning played Psycho Killer on his radio show. Been a deep fan of Talking Heads and David Byrne ever since. I was at the DB concert in Dublin last night. Amazing (again). The artistic growth from ‘77 to Naked was incredible. Hearing Fear Of Music IN 1979 when it was released was (musically) life changing for me.

The 3rd is the Fabs. The world would be a lesser place without The Beatles. Simple as.

Rush always seemed soulless to me but I have friends I respect who love them.
