No, there’s technology available, so you’re either on or you’re off, as simple as that, and despite it being close, them’s the breaks.
And don’t get me started on the offside rule itself. if I could, I’d revert to it being as it once was: if any player is in an offside position then it is offside, whether they’re the player receiving the ball or not. It is, after all, a team game.
Way too much fekking about with offside over the last 30 years or so. Keep things simple and officials might actually have a chance of doing their jobs properly.
