But I think a lot more people had Brentford to go down this year than us. They lost the manager everyone had credited as their driving force and replaced him with their set piece coach, they lost two players who got 20 goals each last season, they lost Norgaard. I think more people would see them as the surprise package, considering how strongly we finished last season and the summer signings we made.

still though, I think you ignoring how shit our squad was, and how many holes we had to fill....several pundits described it as unprecedented.

they finished 7th last year.....yes sold players but....
We have been relegation fodder for years....had an enormous job to do to rebuild that squad.
But yeah ok....if we finish above them it Andrews who has done the great job.

But even if we end up 7th and they end up 8th, Andrews should still get it considering the overhaul they had.

Because it would mean that he has finished above the other managers who seem to be over achieving (Andrews/Silva/De Bris) and Emery won't finish top 2.
Interesting to speculate on whether next season we are as likely to finsih this high though. What are the odds that Spurs and Newcastle are as poor next season ??
Looking at the table it seems that we shouldn't judge things when we are on a hot run. But I can't see us having a better opportunity to gatecrash Europe. Fun times.
