I remember how excited everyone in the city was for this match because it was a Cup derby. I was 10 years old. My dad couldn't get us tickets for Goodison but instead got us tickets for Anfield to watch it on the big screens. My nan had bought me a new scarf & bobble hat & we were standing in the middle of the Kop (well, I was actually sitting on a barrier until we scored when i was sent flying in the crush). It was so windy that one of the big screens blew down so people crammed into the middle of the Kop. Between both grounds there was well over 100,000 people. When Ball scored we could hear the roar from Goodison a couple of seconds before it was shown on the screens! What a night! The atmosphere in those days was very different than today

quality game according to Clement Attlee........sorry......Clement Freud! There's only video of the game near the end but it's a look back at part of life in Liverpool almost 60 years ago for our homegrown fans. Like the lady said in the massage parlour I was treated to once a long time ago......"You like happy ending?" "Yes please miss."
