When I was a kid, I religiously watched TOTP and followed popular music closely. However, this man ( who was far from glam rock as you could get at the time ) occasionally popped up on certain late evening TV Programmes in the 70s and I was always curiously fascinated by the subjects of his songs and use of words and have been recently discovering him again. He spent some time teaching in France and was heavily influenced by George Brassens and Jacque Brel A Love Song.
