Every time I listen to a Moyes season there are results like last night it seems. Often with random events like O’Brien being sent off to sour it even more. Losing to Reading at home was the one that stuck out recently. This is, of course in amongst runs of good form and getting some less likely results too. It just struck me on my run this morning that this is very Moyes like.

As for last night, I’m still hugely pissed off and can only rationalise it by thinking that if the Fulham and Bournemouth results were switched I’d somehow be less annoyed despite being no better off. I felt we deserved something from last nights game and that 8 minute period is unlikely to play out too frequently, it just feels worse because it seems to be against Bournemouth too bloody often.

Patterson should play right back from now. But will get one game. We looked so much better with Garner there as he offered ability on the ball. Patterson is positionally poor but this applies to O’Brien too often too. Mykolenko was awful for the first goal and too many open positions end with him putting a crap ball in or passing backwards sadly. Aznou will not get the chance however. I genuinely hope we move away from playing Gana as I think he alters the balance of the midfield and is still that reactive player no required, especially at home. He’s a good player but his pressing too often leaves gaps that others can’t cover and most teams can play through. .
