Because he's had a new lease of life at BMD and enjoys the adulation?
Because money isn't his focus?
Because he'll get a three-year contract AND his City contract paid up anyway?
There's a million reasons. None of the above could be true, or all of them.
I'm certain the transfer fee in the summer (if he came) would just be to cover his pay-off from City anyway.

A 3 year contract is £15.5m plus the £20m transfer fee with no sell on. £35m for 3 years - Bargain
For that money we can playhim when we want or need him.
I'd prefer to spend £100k a week on a player that can influence games, has a rapport with the crowd already, gives the youngsters someone to look up to, gets the fans on their feet a number of times a game and pops up with the occasional goal.
