I take on board all the risks about permanently signing him, and yes, pace isn't his thing (except in bursts now and then), but if you honestly can't see the massive impact that he's had on this team then I don't know what you've been watching.
Just having a player of his calibre (and personality) around the place gives everyone a lift, and better players make the players around them play better - and he's absolutely done that for us.
Regardless of whether he ever signs permanently, we'll miss him massively over the next few months.

He's been injury prone the last few years
31 in Sept
We can't be offering £150k+ a week and giving away 3 or 4 year contracts
If we paid £20m for him and gave him a 3 year contract on £200k/week that's a £50m outlay with no sell on value
Its not the best use of £50m for a club like ours
I'd rather see some pace on the left hand side
He's not exactly pulled up any trees in the last couple of months has he ?

I hope he goes nowhere and we sign him
up.

can we cancel the loan? Surely there’s an injury related clause in the contract.

Could be multiple bones broken in foot.
Happened in training today, non contact(?)
At least 3 months out but need to wait for swelling to subside and then scans to be sure.
Gutted.
