One summer I worked on a production line, building computers. Research Machines, I wonder if they're still around. The young fellow working next to me played for Abiingon Town, I guess he would have been around 17 or 18 or something. He really fancied himself as a footballer and reckoned he was going all the way. He was a lovely feller but I never thought for one second that his dreams would come true. After all, you've heard it a thousand times.
But that guy turned out to play for Oxford, Portsmouth, and a few other places. Famous for wonder goals, scored an amazing one against us once. Anyone remember Matthew Taylor?

As he also looked after Didcot Town - who funnily enough I used to play against
Then opened his own practice in Abingdon. Both local Oxfordshire towns. Another mates wife used to go and see him and she said he was brilliant, always knew what was wrong with her straight away. Also said he was a sound fella
I left Liverpool in ‘87 to Oxfordshire

That's a really strange move, unless he was from that way.
I remember being quite shocked reading he'd left us. Had no idea that's where he'd ended up.
