Or for that matter couldn’t suggest solid succession options for left back too?
It’s glaringly clear that both the fullback options need strengthening if we are to progress (amongst other areas).
We’re caught in a low scoring but low conceding (comparatively) pattern which steers us away from relegation threat usually but gives us at the very most upper lower half of the table as we seem to be able to get a healthy points return from every goal scored (which will trip us up eventually).
We need to increase goals scored considerably to become a regular top half club. Having at least one of your fullbacks capable of helping the team create you would think is key to that.
JOB is a centre half filling in and he’s been solid enough but I can’t believe the fanbase is thinking the recruitment team will conclude we won’t replace him if we can’t get a 6 foot 5” replacement.

You want anyone you bring in for any position not only to be better than the incumbent is in their areas of weakness but also in a perfect world you also do not want them to be worse (or at least not too much worse) than the incumbent in their stronger areas. Comparing with O’Brien makes sense if you approach it like that.

Not a huge amount we already don’t know:
Strikers
The club have asked Roma re: Tammy Abraham. The player prefers Aston Villa however and now Malen has gone to Roma it’s anticipated that Villa will try and progress on that one.
The other 2 mentioned are the others we know in En-Nesri and Wilson. Nothing more than enquiries at this stage. Wilson was on a huge pay per play deal at West Ham. Apparently Wilson’s conduct around the club hasn’t been great allegedly according to sources The Bobble has spoke to.
Beto - still maintain as interest from Italian clubs, so an ideal situation would be to sell him and bring in a short term option to help Barry.
Right back
Club scouts watched Norton-Cuffy vs Cagliari this week but the player was subbed at half time.
The Bobble mentioned that when the club is comparing a player they are scouting, they compare the player against Jake O’Brien not Patterson or Coleman! Mind boggling.
James Garner - Looking likely it will be a 3 year plus 1 year option for his new contract . AC Milan have watched him a lot.
As I say not much we didn’t already know….
