...it seems to me that Farage is playing the long game of gathering as many gobshite Tories as he can, so that - when Reform goes the same way as all the other parties he's been involved in and nosedives - it makes it that much easier for him to join the Tories and become their leader - and potentially (and this is hard to type!) PM at some point...

Reform is just a party of the disenfranchised - both in their leaders and their followers - but if he can gather enough of them to follow him when he switches then he could well have some real numbers behind him.
