•1-1 their place (Reidy - our car window put through when we stopped for petrol, freezing over the snake pass coming home)
•2-2 first replay Goodison, next replay location settled on a coin toss - we won
•2-2 (or was it 1-1) in the 2nd replay at Goodison
•0-5 at Hillsborough, all goals by half time & a brilliant Sharpey hat trick, Evertonians stranded on the Snake Pass who didn’t get in until halftime in disbelief.
Only one of the 4 i didn’t go to because I was made redundant the day before & was in a grump 😤🙈😭😭
Memorable stuff

It’s disappointing that the FA was either unable to think this creatively, or unwilling.
And everyone talks about how only lower league teams want replays. But as you say, as an Evertonian I absolutely loved them.

however if say Man City draw against Arsenal in the 4th round then if both teams agree then they can go without the replay
I used to love going to an away FA cup tie knowing that by drawing we were bringing them back to Goodison

Not only does it mean the tie is decided by actually playing football, everyone wants to avoid the replay so they fucking go for it in the first game, giving us enjoyable cup ties.
The prevailing view from pundits is that extra time is too boring so why not go straight to penalties… that would be a real shame because as you say they are a shite way to decide a fixture.

fuck them off, they've always been shite
I want the golden goal back. Settle games via actual football
losing just a little more faith every day, and credibility too apparently![]()
