Hoover Dam is within easy striking distance
Old Vegas is also worth a visit - old bars & stuff, much more interesting than the new bit imho.
When I went there was also one smallish bar on the main strip (Barrel?) - nice bar & good fun

My job is forcing me to take time off. So the best I could do was find a very cheap trip to Las Vegas.
I've never been before and have no interest in gambling. Any recommendations for other things to do that are fun and interesting?
