but he's never stated that he wouldn't be interested in staying longer if given the opportunity to the best of my knowledge. the closest i can recall is him saying that he wouldn't be manager for as long as he was last time, but that was due to his age rather than anything else. he is 62, after all, so expecting him to still be here at 70 is rather unrealistic.
i do agree that spending silly money on players like grealish is quite a big question no matter what the plan is regarding future managers, though. he's given us a lift and i think he's a draw from both a player signing perspective and from the media attention he brings, but with his age we'd always be having to look for a replacement sooner rather than later.
