The team look lost at times, as if they do not trust what they are being asked to do. Having an isolated striker is madness if said striker cannot hold up the ball and your midfield does not push up in support.
I am well aware of the depleted squad numbers, but when you see McNeil put out on the right hand side..... its a total waste. This is what really frustrates me with Moyes, he cost us a Cup Final in 2012 when he insisted on playing Magaye Gueye who contributed the sum total of fuck all. Moyes has a fall back approach that limits our creativity and relies on us taking the one chance we get and shutting up shop. Its in his nature and while I was impressed he let the lads play attacking football early doors on his return, he has now reverted to type and we are afraid to attack in numbers.
I have read all the arguments about us not having the players and not wanting to get opened up, BUT I think his default tactic is no longer a worker as teams just push up and pile on the pressure like Brentford did and once we concede its game over.
The game has changed and Moyes needs to use his available players better and adopt his style of play to suit their skill set... if your two strikers cannot score and you have some kid who is banging them in for the reserves, then give him a game and tell him to go out and enjoy himself without any fear (I feel Moyes would have him frozen with fear in case he made a mistake). If you spend 40m on a player like Dibling, support him and made sure your team does the same.
