If (as many here seem to beleive) he sould be doing better, becasuse, we are Everton, or because we need to be more ambitouse, or because we should only accept the best, then thats not so good.
I know none of us reaaly dont like to accept it, but net spend is king, expecting a manager to outperform that is living in a dream.....you may get to live that dream for a year or two, but it aint sustainable....see Spouthampton, Leicster, Wolves etc etc...give it two seasons you will be able to add Bounrnmouth and Brighton to that list.

other than getting us through to being a top half club. I think then he'll be stepping upstairs to a well earned place.

I don't think anyone thought that Moyes's return was some sort of long-term answer. What we needed was steadiness, a safe pair of hands, and someone that could get the ship moving forward.
I'm delighted he's back, but I'm not blinkered to the potential issues that may lie ahead.
Once the initial Moyes brief is perceived (by the powers that be) to have been achieved, THAT will be the time for Moyes to prove that he can then go on and achieve something tangible. If not, I'd imagine he'll be moved on, as he should be if he's not bringing in any trophies.
Gone must be the comfortable Everton days of yesteryear.

...I'm still gonna criticise him when he does things that annoy me though, or question him as the long-term solution, gotta keep him on his toes/motivate him (he reads TPF, obviously!)

Only Arsenal have more points (30 vs 27).
If Oliver Glasner had done that with us people would be calling for a ten year contract.
He gets things wrong, is clearly stubborn, and yes - is more of a safety first manager. But I genuinely don’t think there’s a better fit for where we are and what we need right now.
There’s gonna be the occasional Spurs / Newcastle result along the way. We don’t even have a forward worth a place in the team. But give him a couple more windows to fully transform the squad and let’s see where we’re at. The turnaround in ~10 months is truly incredible, really.
