I am completely calm about this season, the recruitment seems good and for the future. It’s not going to be fun every week but there will be enough in there to keep us optimistic but there will be periods out of form as well, like we’re in now.
If we beat Fulham, I guarantee there will be posts about how we can make Europe again.

People pay good, hard earned money to go the games, tickets, travel, food, drink etc etc. They are emotionally invested in the club and at a time when the rest of the world is seemingly turning to shit, people are just desperate for a positive in their lives. Escapism is chased but there has been very little on an Everton front to be positive about over recent times.
There is at least a tunnel in the distance that we are heading towards and one day we might even see the light at the end of it but until then people are going to vent their frustrations, especially at players paid very, very handsomly to play sport and especially at managers, coaches, scouts etc who are also very well compensated for their work.
When that doesn't come off, sometimes the reality of the situation is blinded by the need for the escapism and that craving of any sort of success means that any set back or percieved failing of individuals will be highlighted and magnified ten fold. Just look at the reaction to the Wolves game. We all saw it as a potential opportunity for success and it all fell apart so horribly to the worst team in the league. The reaction it got was born from pure frustration.
I'm relatively calm and positive, I see a new stadium that is bringing in much needed additional revenue and one that will only get better when they fix some problems.
I see a professional CEO, working with professional owners for the first time in a very long time. I see good quality hiring going on behind the scenes, in key positions, I see progress on and off the pitch but its still going to be a slog. It still didn't stop me shouting "why" at the TV when McNeill came on instead of some of the other options.
We, live, breath and love our football club, we all have various opinions on it, some are naturally positive, some are negative, some are on the fence that'll never change, especially amongst football fans who pay large sums of money to follow their team.
The modern day game has no tolerance for patience but it's something that if we could all adopt a little more of, we'd be better off! Easier said than done!

They have, and Everton's trophy haul should be far better.
But the stat given contributed to none of those trophies. The relentless negativity is tiresome.
Equally spurious positive stats from this season could be given. We've conceded fewer league goals than the current champions and are level on points with a team who spent £125m on two strikers.
However it seems far easier to hang out to dry a young player who is new to the country rather than take a step back and look at positive steps that have been made to try and repair the damage caused by the previous ownership who were in charge during Leicester's golden age.

Including the league, would they swap those memories and experiences for not being relegated and just about surviving every year?
