KDH moving to a deeper lying role where more of the game is in front of him makes perfect sense. He may lack Gana's tenacity but he is still well capable of putting in a tackle and has a much better range of passing and reading of the game. He doesn't go round chasing the ball when not in possession. And he's 10 years younger.
The refusal to give Alcaraz more than the tail end of the game off the bench is starting to smack of stubbornness. The gameplan we keep trying (hard to make out what exactly it is sometimes) isn't working and relies too much on the individual skill of Ndiaye and Grealish. We have to try something different against Fulham, just swapping Beto and Barry around is not the answer.

Maybe I was thinking of Dibbling. Sigh.
Either way, I agree Alcaraz should be starting games, as something has to change.
I just worry it'll be in January when these changes are forced on him. KDH deeper & Alcaraz in for Gana. Although I think he might put Alcaraz right and bring Tim in, for Gana & Ndiaye.

Yep the Linderoth effect is defo kicking in again
But there's no denying stuff happens when he's on the pitch. He's not perfect, he will give the ball away, he will make stupid challenges. But he creates, he carries the ball, he puts a shift in, he presses and he tackles. The team just seems to play better when he's in it. Wolves away aside. He was the best of a very bad bunch that night and he was still the first to get hooked.

NB. I'd start Alcaraz, but he's getting mythical status the less he plays.

How Moyes didn’t see that after the Palace game, I have no idea.

Moyes needs to fucking own that and do something to remedy it. Instead of blaming the kid, "We missed a good chance to make it 2-0, then we sat back and that gave Sunderland a bit of confidence"
That miss from Barry wasn't because he's shit. I would've buried that and i'm shite. His confidence is destroyed. Our style of play and constant subs is not helping.
Start playing to our strikers strengths again ffs. In a low scoring sport, goals are fucking golden. We need to start acting like it.
Beto and Barry, might be big black lads, but they're not fucking Drogba and they never will be. Stop playing like they fucking are.

players become a bit fed up with the strikers - if at all ?
maybe they dont
but Grealish should be on 7 or 8 assists, Ndiaye should be on 3 or 4
I'd 100% stick with Barry for the Fulham game, but we collapsed after Barry missed his chance - at that stage we had 7 shots, they had one, by the time our next shot came in they had 16.
Do the players just begin to think, fucking hell no point passing to the forwards etc ?
Its every week we are missing chances in the 6 yard box
If there is a kid in the young who can score tap ins I'd be getting him in the squad
I know too much, it's freakin' me out
But there's gold under the rust
Figuring out just how to live
I'm so afraid you're finding me out
But there's something in the rough figuring out just how to live![]()
