Football's meant to be fun. Watching Beto control the ball further than he can pass it isn't enthusing me.
Bringing back a once-loved player who broke his body for us and is an improvement on what we currently have? I'd like it. And given NINTH can get you Europe, I'd suggest even half a dozen goals would rocket it us up the league.
Whilst you say the difference between 11th and 12th doesn't matter, if it meant we enjoyed a couple more wins, that'd do for me. I'm getting older, I'm bored of us ticking over.
Jez suggesting he's rubbish because he 'only' got a move to Tottenham is wild, given the shite I've watched over the last few decades.
HOWEVER, I'd rather Toney and I think Evan Ferguson is more likely.

We’re not getting relegated and Richarlison on the form of the last 2 seasons, isn’t getting us into Europe.
Why splurge stupid money on someone who isn’t going to be around/available next season, just so we can finish 11th not 12th?
If there was a younger proven-ish player available (eg that Ferguson guy at Roma/Brighton) then he might be worth a punt.
But Richarlison for nostalgia purposes? Not for me Clive

Just a loan to the end of the season. Good for him, gives us options, without breaking the bank and bringing in a player that doesn't need a settling in period.

he's the wrong profile of player we should be signing, but if you were going to break that rule for anyone, it'd be for him - for that fact that he really, really gets Everton and gave his everything when playing for us.
But his injuries (and you're probably right in that they were sustained trying to pull us out of the shit) have goosed him.

so his stats are largely irrelevant
31 non penalty goals in 5 and a half seasons isn't great anyway
His 1st 18 months at Everton was when he was at his best - ironically under Silva
Since then despite always giving 110% he wasn't the same player
After his 1st 6 months I thought he'd end up at Real or Barcelona he was that good for us
The fact he ended up at Spurs would suggest not everyone has the same inflated opinion of him as the Evertonians do and still do despite his rather unflattering recent stats
He's also had a lot of injuries at Spurs probably not helped by playing through the pain barrier whilst at Everton but it's another reason why we should be avoiding him
He might well be an upgrade on Beto and Barry but there must be 100's of strikers worldwide who would be an upgrade
Theo Walcott was the same age as Richarlison is now when we signed him
His best days were also massively behind him

Sure, he’s not set the world ablaze since his move but is there really any question that he a) wouldn’t be a considerable upgrade on what we have and b) would give anything less than 100% every week?
But to answer your question, Brazilian #9 with 20 goals in 54 games at international level and more than £100m of transfer fees behind him. 329 career games / 93 goals. Would I take him over two fellas who look like they’ve won a competition, if he hadn’t played for Everton previously? Tough one.

would fans be as keen to want him
36 league goals in the last 5 and half seasons in 142 games - quite a few of those goals penalties
Beto has more goals since the start of last season
