Starting from 3 I didn't feel like you could play the game casually if you wanted to win something. It has obviously been the right choice considering how popular the game is so no complains from me.

Still have all the boxes from 90s, including the very first version. That box also should have the patch disk I got from Paul & Ov when I sent them a letter complaining game starts acting up after some 20 seasons (regens with no names, having started professional at 6 etc). First game was obviously totally broken, you would win every match with 1 defender, five midfielders and five forwards.
