Her version of Gimme Shelter on that album is also excellent. After watching 20 Feet from Stardom a few years ago, I downloaded a couple of her albums.
Just a shame that many of the songs are a bit formulaic.
A friend of mine, a girl in our class in the 70's was into the likes of Minnie Ripperton, Labelle and Rufus (Chaka Khan) and had a cassette with a couple of Merry Clayton songs on it.
Not exactly my musical direction at the time, but right mood, right music.
Unfortunately, she was 'out-of-my-league'.
