Yup - same here. I've seen some people on social media rating our window as 7/8 out of 10 and I can only assume that they haven't been around for many Everton transfer windows! I'm absolutely delighted with what we've done - especially when you compare it to past years.
Yes we would have all liked to get a first-choice RB in - and the club clearly did try to do that (Tete) - but if the right options weren't deemed to be there for us this summer, then so be it - we have enough players in the squad that are capable of playing there that we can cover it until a better option is available. That's a sensible grown-up approach and not something that we would have done in past years.
As for the rest of the signings, I'm really delighted with them. As I've said before, and as you've alluded to, both David Moyes and Angus Kinnear thought it would take 2 summer windows to get the squad near to where they thought it would be, so I had no great expectations this summer but hoped that they would cobble something together, but I'm really pleased at the strength of the squad we are now taking into the season, with a strong XI and a much stronger bench too (yes, again it would have been great to get all of these in before the America tour to bed in, but we all know that's not how these things work)
Other than Jack Grealish (which I'm obviously excited about) I don't really know much about our other signings, but I've been impressed by Dewsbury-Hall so far - he's clearly loving it so far, and looks like someone who just wants to play football, excite fans and maybe prove a point.
I think Dibling will learn loads from both Grealish and KDH and clearly has masses of potential, but I have to say that, having now watched the highlights video posted earlier and having just watched the interview with our latest signing Merlin Röhl, I'm really hopeful that he could be very special for us. The interviewer asked the same old, same old questions, and some of the answers were the usual things you'd expect any new signing to say, but there were - for me - also some glimpses of a very humble, hard-working young man, who comes from a good family and has his head screwed on. He seems like very much a "Moyes type player" and I think he could possibly be the best signing of the lot of them, but we'll see.
I do have some minor concerns about Mr Grealish's off-field activities, but I'm hopeful that they won't be an issue and that he can continue to work the magic that he's worked in the last 2 games for us, as he is a real joy to watch - he makes the game look easy and clearly inspires those around him onto greater heights as well.
I'm gutted we've got this stupid international break right now, as I'm champing at the bit to see us play again, but at least it gives the players who are still here some time to gel and for Moyes to get his ideas across to them.
Sorry that was so much waffle but blame Robin!

Yes, we’d have all liked the right back, but we always knew this was a 2-3 window fix and yet we’ve done much of the job in just one.
It’s been hard, even from afar, to keep up the enthusiasm in recent years. Fair play to those of you who are there and going through it every week. But for the first time in an incredibly long time, I genuinely feel we’ve turned a corner. Off the field, we’re finally stable and that stadium looks incredible. On the field, there’s signs that we’re starting to put it together - some of our play in the final third against Wolves was just fantastic to watch.
I’ve long been a Moyes disciple so I’m absolutely delighted to have him back at the helm. Nobody I trust more with the club than him. We’ve got incredible stability there in that he’ll never leave us again, and will only go when we’re ready to move on from him.
Delighted for everyone that’s stuck with us over the last decade, whether you’re in L4 (ok, L5 now!) or the other side of the world - really do feel that we’re finally on the edge of some very good times once again.
Couple of weeks to get everyone fit, integrated and ready for Villa. Been shopping for the kids’ kits tonight…long time since I was counting down the days until our next game but can’t wait to sit down with them for the next one
