My guess is we think O’Brien can run the position for now, with support from (in order) Coleman, Garner, Patterson. I think Aznou can also play right side, in a pinch?

Again, far from ideal - and both full back positions are where I think we’re weakest (both in terms of starters and backups).

That said, we were never going to solve the squad in a single window and yet we’ve made exceptional progress towards doing just that. And I understand the focus on the attacking positions, given that we were actually pretty strong defensively, last season. We almost have two full lines at this point:

Pickford (Travers)
O’Brien (Coleman) - Tarkowski - Branthwaite (Keane) - Mykolenko (Aznou)
Gueye (Tim) - Garner (Rohl)
Ndiaye (Dibling) - KDH (Alcaraz) - Grealish (McNeil)
Beto (Barry)

That’s some transformation in a short space of time. Hopefully we get to the January window in good shape and able to move on the last couple of positions needed to really bolster our title charge
