The Desperation Kirkby move only didn't go ahead because the government called it in (influenced in part by the representation from Evertonians in fan groups like KEIOC at the public inquiry) - BK was 100% in favour of it going ahead as it was a cheap option (and didn't it look it!) that meant he didn't need to put his hand in his pocket. He doesn't deserve any slack whatsoever as the project didn't go ahead in spite on him, not because of him.
And if you want just one more lie for the cherry on top, a commitment that he made to angry shareholders at an AGM (and I still have the audio) who voiced their disapproval of the Kirkby debacle and suggested a different site (the Bestway site near the Wallasey tunnel entrance) or a full feasability study into redeveloping Goodison: "OK then, as a Plan B we'll revisit the Bestway site, as a Plan C Goodison"
Neither happened.
