But now the manager does actually have attacking options in midfield - Alcaraz, Armstrong and Dewsbury-Hall (based on his Leicester days).
Barry is a big lad but he’s not going to thrive on aimless hoofs for him to chase. We need to get midfielders closer to him who can create some space, then chances for him to try to convert. That’s not happening if Moyes picks Gana and Garner and sits them essentially right on top of the Centre Halves.
Moyes might have had a justification to do that last season, but with the additions this summer (and development of Armstrong), he ought to be able to create a much more potent attacking team - and actually give his strikers some decent service! That ought to be the minimum expectation this season and if done properly, gets us starting to play like a decent football team.
