From several conversations I have formed the impression that the club believe they have some opportunities to push revenues towards £300m (say £280m as the stretch target) for 25/26 by optimising match-day, commercial and other events.
We also have players with no/low book value who we can sell now, January or June if needed. Overall I got the sense that the club feels it has quite a wide range of wages+amortisation it can make work within. If we push towards the top end it just switches focus to revenue optimisation and if needed a June 2026 sale.
We finally have enough financial stability to have options and different means to achieve the same end.

We were offered a bunch of DMs early in the window and parked most. We are back revisiting now as the couple we prioritised did not come available (we were only ever lukewarm for Luiz as a loan option). Some of those names in the press from 4-6 weeks ago might now be back in the frame but that is a guess not a fact.
One name I have heard from one source I cannot share but he has not been linked to us that I have seen. Another name from a different source has been linked to us but not in this window by any mainstream source (and I’d include Bobble in the mainstream for this purpose). The person who gave me Dibling details says Hammond has been discussing 3-4 potential DM with agents today and that there is money for a “significant” buy or loan + option/obligation. RB is still a target as is a veteran striker but if/how (fee/loan/free) we do this depends on finances left depending on if/how we address DM. I’d expect us to be open to late loans for depth across the team to support loans out. Previous Message
Looks like we’ve signed an almost completely new midfield - Grealish, kdh, alcaraz and dibling
Going to take time for them to learn to play together but there’s a fair amount of talent in there. Not that they’ll all play at once but you can see 3 of 4 starting most games when fit
Suspect we’re now going to be focused on versatile cover across defence, maybe one more defensively oriented mid and an experienced/veteran forward. Probably loans.
